Trafficked children

Work in progress

What happens after a slave child escapes? How can a shattered childhood be put back together?

This photo essay shows how 21st-century slave children are returned to society. It shows us that there is a back door that thousands of children find to cross through in West Africa, the region of the world with the highest rate of child trafficking based on the last Global Report on Trafficking in Persons.

Project in collaboration with UNICEF Comité Español and supported by Mensajeros de la Paz, Misiones Salesianas and Carmelitas Vedruna.
